Frequently asked questions (FAQ)
1. What are the activities of RG Medis?
„RG Medis“ is a forestry company providing professional services in forest buying, selling,
timber trading and forestry consultancy. We also work to the highest sustainability and
environmental standards to ensure responsible forest management and regeneration.
2. Can you help me assess the value of my forest?
Yes, we provide an objective valuation of forests based on their stage of maturity, timber
quality, site characteristics and other relevant criteria. The assessment helps you to make an
informed decision on whether to sell or further manage your forest.
3. Which forests do we buy?
We buy a wide range of forests, depending on their condition and potential. Here is an
informative description of which forests are suitable for us:
1. Mature forests
What is a mature forest?
A mature forest is a forest in which the trees have reached their maximum growth stage,
where the trees are starting to age naturally and their growth rate is decreasing. These
forests are usually dominated by trees over 80 years old, with trees reaching a large range in
diameter and height.
Species of trees:
- Pines – over 80 years old;
- Spruces – 70-100 years old;
- Oaks – over 100 years old;
- Birches – over 50 years old.
Mature trees and materials:
Mature forests often provide valuable timber for construction, furniture production, and other industrial sectors. Such forests can provide both logs and raw wood for various industries.
2. Mature forests
What is a mature forest?
A maturing forest is a forest where the trees are between young and mature, usually
between 30 and 80 years old. In these forests, the trees are still actively growing, but their
growth rate is slowing down and they are approaching maturity. This is an ideal forest for
future timber production.
Tree species:
Maturing forests can have a variety of tree species, including:
- Pines – 40-80 years old;
- Spruces – 40-70 years old;
- Oaks – 30-60 years old;
- Birches – 40-70 years old.
Uses:
Mature forests are often used to supply timber to a variety of industrial sectors, as well as a
key resource for reforestation and sustainable timber production practices.
3. Steep forests
What is a steep forest?
A standing forest is a forest where the trees have not yet reached their full maturity stage,
but have reached a certain height and diameter. These forests usually have trees that are
between 20 and 40 years old and have a high tree density.
Tree species:
The most common trees in steep forests are:
- Pines – 20-40 years old;
- Spruces – 20-50 years old;
- Oaks – 20-40 years old;
- Birches – 20-40 years old.
Uses:
These forests can be used both as a basis for future timber production and as a sustainable
source of future regeneration. Status forests are often associated with ecological forest
management and natural tree growth.
4. Forests by scale
What is scale?
Scalicity is an indicator that describes the productivity of a forest. It depends on various
factors such as soil quality, climatic conditions and tree species. Forests with a high degree
of salinity tend to have a higher density of trees and a higher growth rate.
High-elevation forests:
In these forests, trees grow quickly and often reach a higher size and quality. These forests
are usually suitable for intensive timber extraction and commercial activities.
Medium Scale Forests:
Medium Scale Forests can be used for both industry and ecological projects. Although their
productivity is not as high as that of high scalation forests, they can still be a useful resource.
4. What certificates and standards do your activities meet?
Our operations comply with international sustainability standards, including:
- FSC certification for responsible forest management;
- IWAY standard for the timber supply chain;
- EUDR requirements for the protection of European Union forests
5. Do you provide forestry advice?
Yes, our experts provide advice on the following:
- Forest sale or purchase processes;
- Forest management project preparation;
- Logging permit management;
- Forest maintenance and management strategies.
6. What documents do I need to prepare to sell my forest?
The seller usually needs the following documents:
- Forest ownership documents;
- Forest management project (if necessary for felling but not for sale).
We can help you prepare and organise all the necessary documents.
7. Do you buy biofuels and wood chips?
Yes, we buy wood chips and raw material for biofuel production, with fast payment and
competitive prices.
8. What types of wood do you sell?
We sell quality roundwood suitable for:
- The construction industry;
- Furniture production;
- Paper and cardboard production.
- Logs;
The wood we supply is certified and meets international quality standards.
9. Why sell your forest to you?
- We offer fair prices based on realistic market assessments;
- We ensure a transparent and responsible process;

the environment.
